Early Childhood Special Education
Supporting Your Child’s Growth and Development
Every child develops at their own pace. However, some children may experience developmental delays or face challenges related to special health conditions. That’s where Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) can help.
ECSE offers free services for children who are eligible based on a developmental evaluation. If eligible, these services are available for children from birth to kindergarten age, and could include working with a special education teacher, occupational therapist, speech/language pathologist, physical therapist and other specialists. Students receive services in a variety of settings based on their age and needs, including in the home, community programs, or school based early childhood classrooms.
We're Here to Help
If your child is between the ages of 0–5 and you have concerns about their development, please contact the Early Childhood Special Education department. We offer free information, support, and referrals to help guide your family and support your child’s needs. Referrals made through the Help Me Grow referral system will be directed to the Lakeville Early Childhood Special Education department.
